To maximize results, it is recommended that you meet with Jen at least twice a week for three to six months. Jen also has a variety of clients who train with her year round as she uses her coaching skills to keep sessions fresh and on target to reach new goals. At the end of each month, there is an assessment of progress to determine if sessions need to be increased or decreased based on your needs. The first session is designed to conduct a variety of assessments, which will give Jen valuable information about the direction that the sessions need to emphasize and help you achieve your goals. Jen will design a plan that is customized for you in regard to: weight loss, strength training, core and cardiovascular conditioning, increased flexibility, improved proprioception, and nutrition. Jen can also provide homework for you to work on your own so that sessions with Jen will progress with faster results. Training is available in-person or online.
Assessments include measuring weight, circumference measurements in hips and waist, body mass index or BMI, body fat percentage, step tests with heart rate zone, push-ups, sit-up, flexibility and balance testing. Jen will also take a look at your shoes and feet to determine if you are a pronator or supinator and will analyze your foot strike patterns when you walk. Jen will assess where there may be muscular imbalances and will analyze body alignment and posture. Other tests are given such as the overhead squat assessment, 3 minute step test if warranted, core tests such as plank holds, push-ups, and proprioception.
Jen’s home studio offers a variety of fitness tools such as self myofascial release rollers and balls, stability balls, TRX suspension training system, Dynamax Medicine Balls, SPRI Slam Balls, resistance bands, free weights, kettle bells, BOSU’s, steps, agility ladders and dots, balance pods and gliding discs – all designed to strengthen core, balance, flexibility and cardio drills.
If you are specifically looking for nutrition coaching and guidance, Jen can meet with you one on one and evaluate your food journal, eating habits and behavior in order to help create new healthier habits that will put you down a better path to your food and nutrition goals. Recommended time for this class is one hour.
