MMB – Ready, Set, Summer!
I hope you all had a delightful Father’s Day weekend and enjoyed special time with your family! The weather was beautiful and a great kick off to summer!
This past Saturday was the launch of outdoor fitness and my new hybrid model. I taught Boot Camp On-Line at 7:30am and then taught Park Fitness at 8:40am! I must send a special shout out to Debbie Roe. Why might you ask? Well, because she did both classes!! What???? You heard me! Debbie was in beast mode and completed both Boot Camp and Park Fitness! And BTW, Boot Camp was a particularly tough class because we did “Manmaker Mania”, which meant 6 circuits of Manmakers, except that we kept adding on to the Manmaker circuit so that by the end, we were doing, plank rows, push-ups, bicep curls, overhead presses, post delt. flys, and goblet squats! Craziness! And….of course there were bursts in-between the circuits too.

Park Fitness Crew from Saturday! Erwin Ricafrente, Erin Campbell, Christy Stevens, Debbie Roe, Melissa Judge, and Bernie Calvo! You guys rocked!
Park Fitness from this morning – Monday!!! Back at it again! Erwin Ricafrente, Christy Stevens, Archana Iyer, and Debbie Roe!!

Thought for the week: A summer mindset
After the grueling year we’ve had so far, I’m ready for a good dose of some positive aren’t you? What’s wonderful about June is that it’s such a bright month with the morning sunshine knocking on our door and the evening skies beckoning us to come out and play a little longer. Being a Hobbit, I love running down the street and catching quick glimpses of all of the beautiful flowers showing off all of their colors! The bright and clean greens, yellow hues and sunset oranges always put a contagious smile on my face and help make my stride a little lighter with each step.
Summer is when you say, “Hi” to a neighbor who is walking their dog and delight in seeing kids on their bikes ride by without a care in the world. Remember those days? I would like to challenge you to look at the outside world a little differently this week. What do you pass by everyday that is special and unique to you and your neighborhood? What if we didn’t have another tomorrow to spend? How would you view things differently? Who would you say Hi to or how would you spend your time?
With all of the heavy sadness that has blanketed our country these past several weeks, let’s do our part in breathing in some joy and happiness as we reconnect with friends and family over the next few days and weeks. Let’s not take any part of our day for granted because all of our activities are what make us who we are! The work we do and the people we love and serve is our blueprint of our life here on earth. What’s on your blueprint? Who are the people who matter most to you? What can you do to brighten their spirits today?
Friends, as we walk into our week, let’s have a renewed spirit of how we see our neighborhood, our community, and the common and ordinary things that may not matter to someone else, but they are a part of our experience and positioning in where God has us planted. As the Book of Galatians tells us, “
Galatians 5:22-23 English Standard Version (ESV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Let’s rise up and sow seeds of these fruits into our neighbors and loved ones so that we can share the love of God in the ways that truly matter.
Have a blessed week and I’ll see you in class soon!
