Blog – 6-Week Winter Fitness Challenge Winners!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day and holiday weekend!  While I was thankful for the rain into Saturday morning, I was sad that I had to cancel Park Fitness.  We’ve actually been very fortunate this winter that we’ve been able to have as many outdoor fitness classes as we’ve had, so I’m thankful for that!

This past Saturday was the 6th Winter Fitness Challenge!  I know many of you have been working very diligently on improving nutrition, healthy habits, and staying consistent with work outs, so bravo and well done!

I’ve been keeping careful record of the four 1- minute fitness tests these past six weeks and wanted to announce the winners of each of these fitness tests.    I compared your numbers from the 1st week to the 6th week and showed the range of improvement:

Shoulder Taps:

5th place – Erin Campbell – Range 99 to 116 – improved by 17

4th place – Theresa Rivas – Range 84 to 102 – improved by 18

3rd place – Heather Thompson – Range 86 to 109 – improved by 23

2nd place – Debbie Roe – Range 90 to 127 – improved by 37

1st place – MingMay Pang – Range 50 to 95 – improved by 45  Wins 1 free class

 

Push-Ups:

5th place – Christi Stevenson – Range 12 to 27 – improved by 15

4th place – Mansi Parekh – Range 20 to 40 – improved by 20

3rd place – Heather Thompson – Range 12 to 34 – improved by 22

2nd place – Erin Campbell – Range 40 to 67 – improved by 27

1st place – Debbie Roe – Range 29 to 57 – improved by 28  Wins 1 free class

 

Lateral Shuffles and Squat Thrusts:

3rd place – Lynnda Philbrook – Range 10 to 15 – improved by 5 & Theresa Rivas – Range 10 to 15 – improved by 5

2nd place – Christi Stevenson- Range 11 to 15 – improved by 4 & Erin Campbell – Range 21 to 25 – improved by 4

1st place – MingMay Pang – Range 15 to 22 – improved by 7  Wins 1 free class

 

Jack Burpees:

3rd place – Christi Stevenson – Range 14 to 18 – improved by 4

2nd place – Erin Campbell – Range 21 to 26 – improved by 5 & MingMay Pang – Range 14 to 19 – improved by 5

1st place – Heather Thompson – Range 14- 21 – improved by 7 & Mansi Parekh – Range 13 to 20 – improved by 7  Wins 1 free class

 

Nutrition Challenge Winner!  Heather Thompson!

Heather Thompson took this Nutrition Challenge very seriously.  From the beginning, she counseled with me and came up with a nutrition and meal plan that would help her incorporate more fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and smaller portion sizes.  Heather has worked very diligently on making healthier habits daily, both in nutrition and exercise, and has been an excellent role model for the rest of her family too.  She has lost 4 pounds so far as well as a couple of inches from her hips and waist.   Heather’s hard work and dedication has made her the winner of this Winter Nutrition Challenge 2021 and she has won a $95 Pre-Paid Class Card!  Way to go Heather!  Keep it going girl!
