I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Did you get out and move? Did you go hiking? Biking? Boot Camp or Park Fitness? I know some of you did and it was awesome seeing some of you over the weekend! On Sunday, my family and I headed down to Monterey early in the morning and rented kayaks! It was a gorgeous day with mild wind, warm skies, and calm waters. Sea life was abundant with sea lions everywhere, sea otters grooming themselves, and a variety of sea birds all around us. It was a bit sad seeing the Monterey Bay Aquarium empty with no people. That was weird. So, we just decided to experience sea life in their natural habitat instead! I highly recommend heading down to Monterey this time of year. It’s calm and still quite beautiful. Thought for the week: 2020 Homestretch!
I’m actually relieved that it’s November. Somehow it feels like we are in the homestretch of finishing out 2020. I’ll like to remain hopeful that 2021 will bring back some normalcy to our lives. It’s been a hell of a ride this year hasn’t it? I just wanted to say that despite how difficult this year has been on so many levels, many of you have continued to stay consistent with your work outs and clean eating. This is NOT easy, especially when food can be such a source of comfort. And you know what? None of us are perfect! Nope, not a one of you. We all have hard days and better days, days that are up and days that are down. This is why community is so important. When we try to go rogue and be a lone warrior, bad things happen my friends! We are not meant to be isolated, especially when you are in the pursuit of healthier habits and sweat equity! We need friends to sweat together! While we still have two more months of 2020, I encourage you to take a deep breath, dig your heels in, and keep doing what you are doing. Don’t give up now! Keep exercising, getting outside to hike, bike, swim, walk the dog, whatever it is that will get you moving outside! Keep shopping for fresh foods and making homemade meals. Keep checking in with friends to see how they are doing. How about the older folks in your lives? How are they doing? If you can’t see them in person, try setting up Zoom calls with them or FaceTime. It truly means so much to reach out to someone and let them know you are thinking about them. I wish I had a little more time to write, but I am jamming today! I’ve had a full day of training and now I’m about to head up to Walnut Creek to pick up my boys, then get back home and get ready to teach class tonight!
